A large enterprise operation with distribution nodes across both Ghana and Togo required a consolidated, process-governed connectivity and VAS platform environment. Legacy point-solutions had accumulated across regional sites, creating integration debt that impaired operational reporting, slowed inter-site coordination, and left the enterprise exposed to service continuity risk. The mandate was clear: rationalise, integrate, and document — at every handover.
Specification Challenge
The complexity of this engagement arose from several converging pressures.
- Heterogeneous legacy infrastructure: Disparate connectivity arrangements across Ghana and Togo operated under inconsistent configuration standards, with no unified documentation baseline.
- Dual-jurisdiction regulatory alignment: VAS platform enablement across both markets required coordinated engagement with in-country operator frameworks — a process demanding both technical and procedural rigour.
- Zero-disruption requirement: The enterprise’s distribution and logistics operations ran continuously. Any integration work had to be sequenced with surgical precision to avoid operational interruption.
- Stakeholder breadth: Technical teams, operations leadership, and compliance functions all held active interests in the integration outcome — requiring structured communication and documented milestone sign-off at each phase.
Approach
The engagement proceeded through a discipline-first methodology. Before any reconfiguration commenced, a comprehensive infrastructure audit was conducted across all sites — cataloguing existing connectivity states, VAS platform configurations, and inter-site dependencies.
Integration was phased by site criticality. Highest-dependency nodes were stabilised first under managed network service coverage, establishing a reliable backbone before secondary sites were migrated. VAS platform onboarding followed a tested sequence: configuration validation, operator-side coordination, internal UAT, and formal handover documentation — no stage advanced without written sign-off from the designated client authority.
Throughout the Togo-side deployment, local regulatory and operator engagement protocols were observed in full, ensuring platform enablement remained compliant with in-country frameworks. A bilingual documentation package was maintained across the project, supporting both English and French-language operational records for the Togo nodes.
Managed network services were transitioned progressively, with each site moving to monitored, SLA-governed coverage only after its integration state had been independently verified.
Outcome
At completion, the enterprise operated under a unified, documented connectivity and VAS platform environment across all Ghana and Togo nodes. Inter-site reporting consolidated onto a single operational view. Platform continuity improved materially — the fragmented legacy arrangements that had previously generated unplanned downtime were retired. The documentation package delivered at final handover provided the enterprise’s internal IT governance function with a complete, auditable record of the integrated state.
